Day 6 (March 25, 2010)

Finished disassembling the Mustang II front end. 

Calvin made and Dad welded on some strengthening gussets. 

Dad made a pair of radius rod mounting brackets to attach to the frame.

Day 7 (March 26, 2010)

Dad welded on the radius rod brackets and made a support structure for them. 

Day 8 (March 27, 2010)

Mocked up an engine. Discovered that the frame needed to be cut in order for the oil pan to fit. 

Picked up a Chevy 327 which had its heads installed upside down. 

(May or may not be used on this Studebaker)

Day 9 (March 28, 2010)

Took out the front and part of the back seats. Calvin removed a patch panel on the floor. 

Made the engine mounts for the frame. 

Cut the transmission tunnel in order to set the engine at the correct angle. 

Day 10 (April 18, 2010)

Dad and Calvin brought down the 5-speed and attached it to the mock up engine. 

Dad began making the mounts for the transmission while Calvin scraped off undercoating and went bolt searching at Home Depot because the transmission was metric. 

Dad trimmed the firewall to ensure the transmission fit.
